The Bell Family Foundation, Inc. (f/k/a the WoodTrust – Bell Foundation, Inc.) was created in late 1992 with the support of the family owners of WoodTrust and the descendants of Chester O. Bell. In 2017 a second foundation, the WoodTrust Charitable Foundation, Inc., was founded to supplement the company’s community-based efforts. These foundations were established to provide financial support to various central Wisconsin non-profit organizations, primarily located in Wood, Marathon and Portage counties – the predominant area of business operation for WoodTrust. The respective Boards of Directors seek to provide both annual operational and special project assistance to local charitable organizations that meet stated goals and objectives.
The Bell Family Foundation also operates a growing scholarship program for high-achieving area youth seeking to improve their lives through continuing education at the college level.
The foundation boards typically meet on a semi-annual basis to consider pending requests and other special project initiatives.
