We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented person for an Item Processing Associate position at our downtown Wisconsin Rapids office.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ITEM PROCESSING ASSOCIATE
As an Item Processing Associate, you will provide a wide range of support to all WoodTrust departments. This position is responsible for monitoring and processing all items related to the Deposit Operations of the Bank and providing customer service to both internal and external customers. All actions will align with the Bank’s mission and guiding principles.

This position operates scanner to capture and perform Data Entry on POD, Inclearings, Branch and Remote Capture for collection and to prove records of deposit transactions.  Creates and submits files for posting to host system, cash letters, and Positive Pay system as described below.  Reviews and completes Overdraft Processing, Incoming Return Item Processing, and Exceptions Processing as described below. Performs account maintenance and research as needed.  Processes Document Archives, scans documents into Archive, processes and prepares customer statements.  Associates may also be trained on Wire Transfers.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • PROOF/CHECK PROCESSING – Balances work received from Tellers and other data channels. Corrects MICR fields and transaction discrepancies as needed. Prepares nightly posting files and cash letters.
  • OVERDRAFTS/RETURNS – Process and decision overdrafted accounts and other reports via communication with other departments and Officer instruction. Perform research on accounts and record detailed notes on all levels. Prepare outgoing returns to various corresponding locations.
  • EXCEPTIONS – Review and decision nonposted transactions. Review various reports and process them per department procedures.
  • WIRES/OTHER (duties limited to trained associates) – Other duties and project responsibilities may be assigned, such as:
    • Processing Wire Transfers (Incoming & Outgoing)
    • Account Research
    • Various Account Maintenance
    • Monthly Billing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
