We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented person for a Retirement Plan Associate in our Wisconsin Rapids office!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RETIREMEMENT PLAN ASSOCIATE
This position has a great deal of variety and opportunity for continued growth.  The Retirement Plan Associate works closely with both our processing vendor and plan sponsors to facilitate retirement plan transactions.  They are responsible for receiving and responding to plan sponsor and participant inquiries as well as record storage and maintenance.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Inputs and uploads 401k remittance files, accompanying funds transfer and deposits to trust system.
  • Oversees retirement plan activity and communicates with processing vendor.
  • Communicates and verifies account information to prepare benefit payments, and prepare, mail and email distribution packets. Inputs distribution information on payment system.
  • Maintains records by keeping administrative files current, uploading electronic files, and storing paper files in accordance with record retention guidelines.
  • Responds to client/participant inquiries via e-mail, mail and telephone and provide information, assistance and support.
  • Assists with plan audits.
  • Assists with plan conversions and set-up of new plans.
  • Stays current on regulation changes and assists in administration of those changes.
  • Prepares participant loan documents, generates checks and obtains appropriate signatures.

Other duties as assigned.

Must enjoy people and be willing and eager to interact pleasantly with customers and fellow associates alike.  Must understand the team concept and be able to function as a member of a team as this team works towards a common goal.

Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time. Must be willing to complete extensive and in-depth projects with little supervision.

It is essential to observe the strictest secrecy and confidentiality on the subject of accounts and activities of any kind of dealing with the bank and maintain a high level of enthusiasm and customer awareness while conveying our confidence in the Bank and the services that are offered.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task are essential to this position as well as a solid understanding of match concepts, good written communication skills and a desire to solve problems.  Knowledge of Windows environment and proficient computer skills are necessary.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as plan adoption agreements, summary plan descriptions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, yields, ratios, and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Opportunities for further education.
